To ensure others we are committed to the Districts non-negotiable goals for achievement and instruction, this summary site provides summary evidence of the great work you are doing!

• Team created norms for both grade levels (1st and 2nd).
• Talked about grade-level realities and what goals will be reachable for our students.
• Used realities to create appropriate SMART ELA goal.
• Used realities to create appropriate SMART math goal.
• We are still in need of information and materials from Marcia Daft before we can complete math goal.
• Talked about what materials we would bring with us next time to use for data discussion.

At this meeting we discussed the SMART goals for ela and math. we also discussed the slo for math for 4th grade. we discussed a plan for intervention pull out for ela and math for all 4th grade students who need it.

We discussed current frameworks, decided what our focus was, and developed common formative assessments. We will set dates for these assessments and focus on how we will intervene/extend after looking at the data at our next plc.

We each discussed our plans for implementing our respond pre-test; which grade, when to give, what prompt to use...  Also discussed our plans for Arts in Education week and how we will include the whole school.

Team discussed a spin off to arts ed week to create "Fine Arts Friday" at Foothills. After announcements there would be a short clip or painting to be used as a prompt. Teachers may use fine arts friday to:
    ask a question requiring CER response (used as SLO data)
    create a writing prompt
    connect art with current learning in IU's

Action plan: will relay idea to 6-8 PLC & Arts PLC to discuss specifics, set goals, and get Fine Arts Friday underway.

60 minutes - Utilized Prep Period and Working Lunch to determine assessments required and appropriate for upcoming Report Card.  Review report card user guides for ELA and Math and Kinder report card on Synergy to align what is to be assessed.

The PLC consisted of all of the members of the meeting having a phone conference with and AR specialist and going through all the aspects through the AR program. We learned each concept and topic to better guide our students for taking and mastering the AR program as well as how to progress monitor, adjust, and level all students based on their individual goals.

Our team worked on our SLO for the 2016-17 school year. We decided on a multiplcation and division focus, which assessments we want to use, and how we were going to teach concepts and monitor throughout the year.

We collaborated and determined a developmentally appropriate, consistent and predictable means to support foundational skills practice with homework that "all" students can utilize. Resources were chosen, instructions developed and all materials assembled for parents that easily support students in daily homework practice skills. 
Opportunities for differentiation are embedded and foundational skills directly correlate to the skills monitored in grade level Smart Goal.

Worked on SMART Goal and SLO.
We also discussed recent trip by a few staff memebers to Atlanta to visit the Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta. Team discussed many ideas they would like to implement at Foothills.

As a grade level, we looked at data to place students into one of four groups: Above grade level, at grade level, approaching grade level and falls far below grade level.  We discussed options/strategies for helping these students succeed.
We went thru all of our kids and created goals and groupings (interventions)

5th grade met in Katie Richards room , had a Q& A with a AR representative.
• We asked questions regarding TOP reports
• Found parent letters to send home
• Asked if there was a way to print TOP reports all at once, answer was NO
• Shared some strategies with 4th grade
• Discussed the benefits of having students take the VOCAB quiz that compliments their book.

*Reviewed all students growth reports
*Reviewed Goals from 1st quarter & established goals for second quarter.
*Created action plans for students who are not on track with their testing goals.

The 5th grade team:

*Identify our instructional goals using the AR informative “other Reading quizzes”
*Viewed the following instructional videos from Renaissance U:
-checking comprhension in non-fiction text
-Learned how to use digital text library which included non-fiction text.
-Identified two different methods for grouping children a) on level text and b)scaffolding non-fiction text
-Viewed managing student groups
-Viewed monitering comprehension through diagnostic reports
-Viewed interpreting data video
-5th grade team strategized how we could better use AR to build fluency & comprehension with our Accelerated Reader program.  We will begin implementation next week.

We each shared our pre-test data and discussed ways we plan to reach our end goals.
Discussed how to determine target for each student.
Discussed the difficulties we find in assessing student writing.  We are looking for content specific data but also have to be concerned with students' general level of writing.

• Discussed and reviewed SLO mid-year assessment delivery and possible expected outcomes.
• Reviewed Mission and Vision rubric document and determined areas of development for all six Focus areas:  Community-Arts Learning, Community-Parent Communication, Environment, Instruction, Assessment and Students.
• Discussed Unit assessments, and specific data collection necessary for upcoming Report Cards.
